What AIP designation in NL means

The AIP is a permanent-residence pathway for skilled workers and eligible international graduates who want to live and work in one of the four Atlantic provinces, including Newfoundland & Labrador. Employers must be designated by the province before they can make AIP job offers.

NL’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) maintains the designated employer list and updates it periodically; presence on the list doesn’t guarantee current vacancies but confirms eligibility to use AIP.

How job seekers can use this list

1) Focus on AIP-eligible, non-seasonal roles

Employers designated under AIP can support your PR process after you meet program requirements (e.g., qualifying work experience, language, education). Check IRCC’s official criteria for workers and grads.

2) Apply to posted vacancies and ask the key question

Designation doesn’t guarantee openings. Apply to advertised jobs and ask: “Is this role intended to be supported under AIP?” The IRCC guidance explicitly directs candidates to pursue jobs with designated employers listed by the provinces.

3) Tailor your application for NL

Use a Canadian-style résumé aligned to the NOC/TEER of the role.

Highlight year-round availability and customer-facing or care experience where relevant (many new designations are in hospitality and care).

For health and child-care roles, prepare credentials and references early.

Make sure that your CV is ATS friendly. Do not use one CV for multiple applications.

Take advantage of the features and information available on QuestJobs. The portal features CV customization, job matching, CV analyzer which increases your chance of landing a PR job by 70%.
